Addressing the needs of the increasing numbers of professional photographers adopting the Sony α system, the HVL-F60RM offers high-power flash output, reliable continuous performance and advanced control features with integrated radio control options.
When experienced Auckland-based photographer Phillip Simpson got his hands on the new Sony α7R III, he decided to test it out by shooting a personal series in the lower North Island. “After a year of doing commercial work, I relished the opportunity to shoot a simple, low-key road trip series, with the windows wound down, the sun on my face, and no specific expectations from anyone other than myself,” Phillip explains.
The Alpha Awards return in 2018 to bring together the greatest images from across Australia and New Zealand, captured on Sony Alpha cameras and lenses. The Awards aim to drive creativity, reward professionals and enthusiasts alike and provide a platform to showcase the very best Alpha Photography work.
For this year’s competition, photographers can submit their work across 7 categories, including; portrait, landscape, macro, sports, editorial, nature, and abstract.
Primary and high school students will also be able to showcase their photography skills through an exciting and unique youth competition.
Competition Dates The competition commences on Monday, February 19th, and closes for submissions on Monday, April 2nd, 2018.
Grand Prize The Grand Prize winner will enjoy a return flight to Tanzania to take part in a unique and memorable guided photography tour with World Photo Adventures. This once-in-a-lifetime trip will take the winner through the breathtaking sites of the Ngorongoro Crater, the Ndutu Plains and the Serengeti over 13 days and includes accommodation, meals and land transportation. The winner will also receive Sony Alpha camera gear to the value of $3000.
The winner of each category will be awarded with Sony Alpha camera gear valued at $2000.
